OVERVIEW
The founders of the Bhandarkar Oriental Research Institute founded the All India Oriental Conference with a PAN Indian dialogue of Indological scholars in view. The biennial Conference has completed 50 sessions. Vice President of India — Shri Venkaiah Naidu — inaugurated the 50th session organised by Kavikulaguru Kalidas Sanskrit University from 10 January to 12 January 2020 in Nagpur.
OPPORTUNITY
The National Book Fair — Bhavya Rashtriya Granth Pradarshani — was organised in this period. Various publication houses displayed their books, publications, research materials.
Sanskrit Bhasha Prachini Sabha portrayed its work at the exhibition. The organisation was created with the purpose of promotion, propagation, and education of Sankrit language and various aspects of Vedic culture essential for contemporary life.
The challenge was to create the design that it would appeal one and all; without losing the essence of its historical value.
APPROACH
The first step was to study the subject and understand the background & concepts. While doing so, we discovered many connected elements for expressing the essence behind the idea of the organisation.
The sixth chakra in the human body called the Guru Chakra is a form related to the third eye as it is closely related to the subconscious mind. It connects a human mind to the other elements in the world and is the perfect definition of connectivity & communication. It is closely related to the highest level of knowledge & enlightenment.
OUTCOME
The Adnyaa Chakra (Guru Chakra) became our point of inspiration for defining the works of the organisation. The old parchment effect of the ancient scriptures formed the background texture. The idea of representing the content in two languages came from connecting all the people to the noble concept. The fonts are simple for ease of understanding & instant familiarity. All the elements perfectly sync to form the all-inclusive aspect of the traditional Indian philosophy.
CONCLUSION
Designing the exhibit was a project that added many new perspectives to our knowledge base. The process brought forth many distinct factors in communication and visual design.
